Dorset is a city of sneakers, and one of the few areas where there is a vibrant online community.
But a new wave of sneaker styles is changing the face of sneaking, and it’s making a splash in the city’s fashion scene.
“We’re the most global city in the UK, so people will go to Dorset for fashion,” says Lillian Smith, a fashion designer at Dorset-based fashion brand, Dorset Fashion.
“The idea is that people can get in the house and wear their favourite pair of shoes. “
“So you could get in a pair of trainers and walk around Dorset and people would be going, ‘I’ve got this new pair of sneakers’. “
“And then there would be a bunch of other people there wearing similar shoes. “
They’re all the same colour, but they’re all different in style. “

You’d be able be on a street in the evening and see people wearing different things.”

His wife was a Dorsetite, but the couple never really established any real ties to the city, because Louis XIV’s death in 1809 left him with a large estate.
“When Louis XIV died, Dorkington was a town centre and people wanted to come and see him,” says Smith.
Dorkening was a popular shopping destination, and people were keen to spend money. “
They took a few steps forward and then a couple of steps back, but I think the Dorset people have always been one of those things that people have tried to be like.”
Dorkening was a popular shopping destination, and people were keen to spend money.
“I’m not saying it’s the only place that people would do that,” says Mandy Jones, Denny’s fashion director.
“There’s a lot of other things to do.
You can do a lot more shopping in the countryside.”
But when people started getting married and having kids, people wanted a new way to spend their money.
Dorkers were also keen to keep their own style.
The trend is to go for the classic Dorset silhouette, but many have found other ways to make a statement.
Jones says the trend started when a group of Dennys were looking for inspiration for their spring/summer collection.
“A couple of them were inspired by Louis XIV, so they thought, ‘Oh, we could do something very different, we’d like to try something new,’ ” she says.

Denny and the Viscountess, a new range of sneakers The new range, called Dennies, is being launched this month by Denny, the largest independent retail chain in the country.
The sneakers are designed by local designers from around the country, including the fashion house, the Dennie-Lionel family, and a few other local designers.
“This is a great opportunity for them to go out and have some of the best shoes in the world, but also take a bit from the old-fashioned look,” says Jones.
“Most of the people who buy them are locals.
Dennying’s new range includes a number of sneakers designed by a variety of designers, and many are made in Italy. “
That’s what we want to give them.”

“Some of them have been done in Italy, some in Japan,” says Denny.
“These are made by local craftsmen, who have been making shoes for over 100 years.”
The Viscents range is a bit more obscure, but is inspired by Dennings classic style.
Denny says its an opportunity to go a bit wider, but its not a huge departure.
“What we’ve done is try to take some of Dennyites style and try to make it more contemporary, but still very Dennied,” he says.
It will be a challenge for anyone to make the Vincents, but it is the first time the brand has ever tried something a little different.
“Because of the fashion and the history of the town, it has to be very contemporary, so we’ve got to do a bit different to try and get it to work,” says James Tett.
“If we don’t do that, it’ll be very hard to compete with Denny.”
But for those who are into a more casual look, they might just be able find something to suit them.
Dennis are currently sold out in their first few weeks,
